g729 codec for Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5310

Hi,

I am using Asterisk 1.4.16.2 on a Intel® Xeon® CPU E5310 @ 1.60GHz Server.

Now i am looking for installing g729 codec for this, can anyone please advice which is the version of g729 codec i should install. From Digium downloads I found there is two versions for x86 64-bit platform
codec_g729a_v33_nocona.tar.gz
codec_g729a_v33_opteron.tar.gz

Since I am new to this can anyone please tell me which is the one i should go for?

Howdy,

If your distribution is a 32-bit distribution, then you should use the i686, prescott, or pentium4m builds.

If your distribution is a 64-bit distribution, then you should use the nocona build. Opteron is AMD.
