G.729 Codec for Turion II processor, 64-bit OS

Hi:

I am trying to ascertain which would be the most appropriate version of the G.729 codec for a new machine that I am installing. It is running a 64-bit operating system (CentOS 5.7) on an AMD Turion II processor. If someone could assist, I would be grateful, thank you.

The benchg729 utility is built for that purpose.

Likely though, you’ll find that the opteron_sse3 provides the best performance for that CPU, since it’s a K8 core with SSE3 extensions.
