Even more fax issues

Hi

I’m having some trouble with receiving fax with Asterisk 1.2.12.1.

The fax extension picks up, and I can hear the sound. The .tif file is written where I want it to, but it varies in size from 8bytes to 3-4kbytes. So the entire fax never comes through.

My code is as follows:

[macro-faxreceive]
exten => s,1,SetVar(FAXFILE=/tmp/fax.tif)
exten => s,2,rxfax(${FAXFILE})

[ext-local-custom]
exten => 75802089,1,Macro(faxreceive)

The data comes through a IAX2 link from my provider. The codec is ulaw.

Any ideas?

FAX over IAX???

voip-info.org/tiki-index.php … isk%20T.38

basically this wont work easily,

so once you can get yor t38 running you need to make sure that your provider also supports t38

voip-info.org/wiki/view/VOIP … iders+T.38

not many do.

also make sure you use ulaw codec if not T.38… that can help
