Echo cancellers for TDM400P and v1.6?

Hi,

I have a v1.6 installation on fedora14 that I upgraded from an older fedora and v1.4 with a TDM400P card, and mostly completed the upgrade, but have one remaining concern:

WARNING[7294]: chan_dahdi.c:2685 dahdi_enable_ec: Unable to enable echo cancellation on channel 1 (No such device)
WARNING[7294]: chan_dahdi.c:2685 dahdi_enable_ec: Unable to enable echo cancellation on channel 1 (No such device)

There is only one phone line, and that’s to a cable modem PSTN connection. Is it necessary to specify an echo canceller with this card? If so, which one, or is there documentation that explains what the differences are?

I’ve searched for a description of the default system.conf file and can’t find it. For the cancellers, it merely says:

Valid echo cancellers are: mg2, kb1, sec2, and sec.

If compiled, ‘hpec’ is also a valid echo canceller.

I tried the mg2 canceller and the error went away, but I’d like to know the proper way to do this.

Is it necessary to use fxotune with this card anymore?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi all,

Thought I would follow up with my own post and see if anyone could point me to information on echo cancellers, and whether one was necessary with the TDM400P?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi Alex

Did you sort this? - I have exactly the same issue…
