How can I create a “template” to provision my Polycom phones easier? I currently have multiple Polycom phones all running off one Asterisk server using HTTP provisioning. I have a simple APACHE directory that holds all the phone configuration files. When you add the MAC address config files to the server and point the phone to know where to look, it pulls all the info and uploads the appropriate stuff in order to boot properly.
In order for this to happen, I must edit a great deal of XML files each time I add a phone.
How can I create a simple web page (like in MS Frontpage or something) to put as my index.html in my APACHE directory so that I only have to type simple fields like “account,” “extension” etc. And have Frontpage generate the correct configuration files in the directory.
If anyone has an idea I would love to hear from you.
