CPU offloading: Transcoding on GPU using CUDA

Hello fellows,

Has anyone thought of using the GPU for transcoding tasks?
There is a SDK that helps offloading the CPU by sending computational tasks
directly to the GPU (NVIDIA). Here are some links to read more about it:

I don’t know about the feasibility, but it surely would boost Asterisk right up to the sky :- )

Both Digium and HowlerTech offer a card so you take the trans-coding off of the box’s CPU.
