Is it possible to have centraised contact lists that my, for example, WiFi sip phones can access. This would be very useful for our company implementation.

But if you want your WiFi phones to sinhronize their contact lists with some centralized one, this seems more like non asterisk problem.
Meaning I am not sure that SIP allows exchange of contact lists, and even if it allows whether yur phones suport this functions.
If all answers are positive - then Asterisk is the least problem - either it could do it or functionality could be added.
