Configure out of office message

I’m new to asterisk and I have managed to get a basic install going. everything is working fine as expected - but for the out of office message. This is a custom message and it plays 2 times and then the call hangs up.

I want the call to be transfered to the reception extension voice mail box. How do I do this.

I have done these

configure time groups
configure time conditions
under time conditions I have configured IVR that is called outOfHours.

in outofHours IVR I have played the customs message and chosen transfer to Reception extension “nomsg”

is there some thing else I need to do to get this configured.

These are not things you do with Asterisk. They may be things you do with an Asterisk GUI, but they have their own forums.

According to your original problem statement, I think one would define an extension that sets a global variable, or possibly one in astdb, and then read and test that it the dialplan.

If you really want to do it by time of day, regardless of whether the person really is there, you would use GotoIfTime, or a time qualifier when including a context.
