I wold say this depends mainly on what you are using MySQL for in combination
with Asterisk.
By default, Asterisk does not use MySQL; however it can be configured to use it
in various different ways, so I’d say the answer to your question depends
mainly on what you have configured Asterisk to use MySQL for.
Also, as soon as you mention “troubleshooting”, it becomes important what the
trouble is. In other words, the way you would investigate Problem A might be
very different from investigating Problem B - it depends on what the problems
actually are.
