Hi,

I am using Asterisk to make an outbound call with my sip service provider.

I always get the below message when i try making an outbound call. The call gets established but the dialstatus gives me as “NOANSWER”.

–No one is available to answer to answer at this time.

when i use the command ‘core show channels’ i get ‘0 active channels’ and ‘0 active calls’. Do i have to use some codec, if so let me how will i add this to asterisk.

You need to set what codec you want to use in sip.conf. Set the verbosity to 9 and see if you get any more errors. Your ITSP is probably rejecting the call for some reason or another.
