Codec Translation

I need to do some manual codec translations with my asterisk box, I’ve asked on the irc channel (btw, great place to get and provide help) and I got that * does translation by it self.

Yet, I need to pass some calls through a “manual” translation, anyone know [specifically] where I can get information on transcoding and codec translation and stuff.

I’ve probably studied the whole voip-info.org site and no luck on getting anything really useful.

Thanks for any guidance,

rantsh

you can do it in sip.conf

[peer]
disallow=all
allow=(whatevercodecyouwant)

ya neo is absoletly right,
i got also some codec translation like
"unable to find codec translation form g729 to slin"
so i got rid off him by doing allow=all in sip.conf
u also do this. it will work for u …

u can also check asterisk translation ability from CLI>show translation
