Cisco 827-4v pre-setup question

We recently built a house and I wired it with the intention of setting up VoIP later. I’m just about ready to start that project, and I had a friend offer to sell me a Cisco 827-4V device to use.

Since I want to connect our existing analog phones to asterisk, I’m wondering if this would do the trick? It’s supposed to be a DSL router it looks like, but has an ethernet port in addition to the FXS ports. Am I going to have to lay out for a PCI card with FXS ports or can I setup something with a device like this one?

(I can get this fairly cheap…the cards I saw on ebay with FXS modules were close to a thousand dollars to purchase.)

Thanks for any advice or pointers to information you can provide me.
