Cisco 7960 connecting to voice mail

Hi,
I have a Cisco 7960 IP phone, I’ve updated it to SIP version and use the config file in the tftp server to config the phone and registered with asterisk server, it can make & receive calls.

To get voice mail , I need to dial the voice number, say ‘8555’.
The Cisco 7960 has a ‘messages’ button, is there a way to config it so when I press the messages button, it will connect to the voice mail number.

You can configure just about everything in the 7960’s from their TFTP loads. In the case of the “message” button. Add a line to the phone’s config file or the SIPDefault.cnf file (which is what I personally do) that reads like the following:

Thats it. Reboot the phone and hit the message button.
