Cannot transfer after *8 pickup

I have been struggling with this for some time and cannot find an answer. When a call is picked up using *8 my users cannot transfer or park the call.
Does anyone know a solution?
It would seem that the ‘tT’ option is not activated to allow transfers but I do not know how to fix it.
My server is Ubuntu/Asterisk 1.4.17

Do you have the tT options in your extensions.conf

Like;
exten => s,1,Answer()
exten => s,2,Dial(SIP/901,30,Tt)
exten => s,3,Hangup()

Be careful with that you don’t allow callers to make free phone calls.

t    - Allow the called party to transfer the calling party by sending the
       DTMF sequence defined in features.conf.
T    - Allow the calling party to transfer the called party by sending the
       DTMF sequence defined in features.conf.
