Can I virtualize?

Scenario.
Medium size company with 900 SIP devices.
100 simultaneous internal calls with 40-50 simultaneous external calls.
Want to move it onto a HyperV and assign it two cpus and 8gb.

In testing we were “dropping calls” and audio was dropping as well. Is my environment to big to be put on a VM? What should be my resources?

I got to many complaints already about dropped calls and am put off from doing a VM again.

I think the answer is it depends on what else is running on the host. Some people say that they do run on VMs successfully, but I would only consider it for development testing. I’d also suggest that 150 erlangs is too much traffic to run on anything except a dedicated machine.
