We’re having an ongoing problem using Asterisk with our AudioCodes VoIP boxes. We’re using G723.1 with odd frame sizes, which is supported by the AudioCodes boxes. I’m having headaches with Ast because it doesn’t have coders for those frame sizes, but ironically I don’t even care about displaying messages to the user; I’d be happy if the caller just heard ringing when they reached the pbx; is there some way to manage this without having to deal with odd transcoders on Ast ???
you’re going to hit the same problem. Asterisk can’t add audio to the stream with encoding it.
