# Asterisk video?

Hello

I couldn’t find much information in this regard and most of the available information I’ve encountered is several years old. Some of them (mostly [voip-info.org](http://voip-info.org)) stated that the video support is still in it’s infancy.

I have a working asterisk configuration and I have done some dial-plan coding for IVR. I would like to know about Asterisk’s current support for 3G video calls. I’m interested in playing/recording video and making outgoing video calls.

I’m quite new to VOIP. I’d like to know what (additional) hardware/software I need.
