Asterisk guide for setup incoming and outgoing with asterisk stable version

I am using asterisk 1.8 and I would like upgrade full system.

it would be good if some of you can help me and share guide step by step for setup outgoing and incoming by gsm voip gateway with stable version of asterisk.

is so easy if you progrma in your sip.conf and extensions.conf is basically the same you can updgrade to asterisk15

Asterisk 16 is the latest version. You might setup a new machine to try running it with your existing /etc/asterisk/ directory configuration files and seeing how far you get in a testing environment.
