Asterisk doesn't appear in /etc/init.d

HI everybody,

I’ve installed asterisk on a debian 6.0, the pre requirements and the installation were completed successfully following the Asterisk 1.8 documentation getting started guide.

When i launch /etc/init.d/asterisk status, nothing is running, asterisk doesn’t appear in /etc/init.d. The only thing that i’ve done differently during the process is to untarr the source in /usr/local/src. I’ve untarred the source in a folder in /home/asterisk.

Does anybody has an idea about it ?

make configs (when installing from source).

Thanks, in fact i forgot this command, i’ve launched “make install-logrotate” directly…
