Asterisk and Fonality

I am a software engineer at a small company. We have a Fonality system and wish to do some development with it. Basically all I need to do is be notified of incoming numbers when they happen so I can take specific action. Questions:

Can I write some code that will plug into the running Asterisk or do I need the original Asterisk and Fonality source?

If I can write a plug-in, how do I get started?

if they haven’t stripped out the AGI interface then you can use that, or the Manager API. it depends on what you’re trying to do.

regardless of what you use, as Fonality is based on Asterisk, they should have supplied you with the sourcecode. i have seen posts from Chris@Fonality claiming this is the case, if not, give them a call and request it.
