Asterisk and a Web Server

I am currently trying to figure the best way to put an Asterisk PBX system for a small call center onto my dedicated server that I am using for my other company operations (ie. web server hosting and application hosting).

When I was reading some of the Asterisk documentation on installation and in some other tutorials, I noticed that I needed to change the group that Apache was running under, from http, to the asterisk user group, will this prevent me from being able to run a normal webserver on the same system as the PBX if I do this?

VoIP has real time constraints which makes it a bad idea to mix it with other applications that may impose a significant load but don’t have 20ms time constraints.

Having said that, the port number of the internal web server in Asterisk is configurable.
