"Assert memory c" error on Polycom 8002

We are testing a Polycom Wi-Fi phone on our Asterisk 1.4.24.1 and a few times during the day it would freeze up with error “Assert memory c”.

The configuration files on the Asterisk side are practically the factory default files as downloaded from the Polycom site and adjusted with the site-specific IP addresses.

This Polycom phone is “partner certified” with the Asterisk Business edition of Digium but as I am using the full-featured Asterisk 1.4.24.1 I assume this should not make any difference.

Any tip on what needs to be looked at would be much appreciated.

Otherwise this Polycom phone has excellent voice clarity, we were testing it simultaneously with the D-Link DPH-540 (one phone to each ear) and obviously the voice from the D-Link arrived with a slight delay compared to the Polycom.

Update: Polycom’s tech support said that this was indeed an issue and a fix will be released soon.
