The last I used AMD (I think it was with Asterisk 1.6) the statistics were way off. Has anyone figured out a “better way” to determine if a call was answered by an answering machine? From what I recall FreeSwitch does it with tone detection. Has anyone ever implemented something like that in Asterisk?
Have you tried AMD in the current versions? It’s been 17 years since you last used it, it’s had improvements.
In 2025 it is not just about answering machines, many services implement AI gateway to the callee. AMD also got much more advanced - one can implement voiceprint identification for common text-to-speech and prerecorded messages, content scoring and even simple dialog to pass through the gate.
Do you have any examples of this?
