Analog sets

Is there a different way to get analog sets running other than ATA’s or FXS cards? Say 200 of them.

The price buying ATas or channelbanks or FXS is better buy a IP-PHONE, many vendors give a disscount for that number.

Ya, ATA’s 200 of them, yuck. And all those line cords going into the back of a server, messy. Not to mention you would need 8 cards to drive those phones, One PC is not going to do that, what 3 of them. Got to be a better way.

A channel bank, that’s a thought. How would you go about that? Assign a extension number to each channel?

Why would you have the ATA at the back of the server? You can put them anywhere there is a link back to the switch…

I would want the ATA’s all in one place because people steal them, Yes if it is not nailed down, it walks. Same reason we do not want to replace all our analog sets with basic SIP sets. They just disappear. A lot cheaper to replace the analog set then even the cheapest of voip phones.
