Allow only a specific useragent do register

Hi.

I just assembled an asterisk system and I want to use only ekiga as softphones. Is there anyway to prevent the users to user another softphone?

I mean, is there anyway to use the ‘useragent’ info to prevent registration from another softphone (other than ekiga)?

  1. No. Not unless you patch Asterisk
  2. Many phones out there allow you to set the user agent so it would be pointless if some one figured it out.

Hi Dovid.
I know that most phones allow to change it, but my goal is to recompile ekiga with a ‘secret’ specific user agent and no changing option.
